Assassin's Creed [Full-Rip] [Skullptura]

=====================================================================================================================
In September 2012, bartender Desmond Miles is kidnapped by Abstergo, a pharmaceutical company. He is to be used as a 17th test subject in the Animus, a device that can read the memories of Desmond's ancestors through the "genetic memory" left behind in their descendants' DNA. Desmond can then simulate the experiences of his ancestors in a virtual reality environment. Abstergo intends to put Desmond in the device to simulate the memories of one particular ancestor, Altaïr ibn La-Ahad, a member of a clan of Assassins (Hashshashin). Abstergo are specifically interested in Altaïr's experiences during the year 1191 AD, as part of the Third Crusade in the Holy Land. Desmond has trouble adjusting to the device, but eventually re-lives Altaïr's exploits over the next several days. The game then primarily takes Altaïr's point of view, with occasional swaps to Desmond when he exits the Animus device.
Altaïr is first shown attempting to retrieve an artifact, known as the "Piece of Eden", from Solomon's Temple with the help of other Assassins. He is stopped from gaining the artifact by Robert de Sablé, Grand Master of the Knights Templar, the sworn enemies of the Assassins. In a failed attempt to kill de Sablé, Altaïr breaks all three tenets of the Assassin's Creed ("Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent," "Hide in plain sight" and "Do not compromise the Brotherhood") within the opening minutes of gameplay. Meanwhile, Al Mualim, leader of the Assassins (Hashshashin) has narrowly defeated a retaliatory attack by the Templars. Upon returning to the Assassins' stronghold at Masyaf Al Mualim demotes Altaïr to the level of an initiate, but gives him another chance to rise through the ranks of the Brotherhood. Al Mualim assigns Altaïr the task of assassinating nine key figures across the Holy Land - in Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus. The aim of these assassinations is to attempt to bring peace between the Crusader and Saracen forces. Each target is based on a real historical figure from around 1191. These historical figures include Majd Addin (Regent of Jerusalem), Garnier de Naplouse (Grand Master of the Knights Hospitaller), Jubair al Hakim (an eminent scholar in Damascus), Abu'l Nuqoud (the wealthiest man in Damascus), Grand Master Sibrand of the Teutonic Order and William V, Marquess of Montferrat (Regent of Acre)
Altaïr completes each task. While doing so he learns how each target is connected to Robert and the Templars. Together these enemies aim to use the Piece of Eden (which is actually only one of many) to enslave the minds of the population of the Holy Land, bringing "peace" to the land under their rule by robbing the people of free will. With important and powerful men on both sides killed, Altaïr discovers de Sablé's last ploy to attempt to unite Crusader and Saracen against their new common-enemy: the Assassins themselves. Altaïr pursues de Sablé to Arsuf, and defeats him in trial by combat before Richard the Lionheart. In doing so he convinces the king of de Sable's treason, but not that an end to the war would be welcomed by both sides. With his dying breath, de Sablé reveals that Al Mualim is himself a Templar, and that he used Altaïr to kill the other members so as to keep the treasure for himself. Altaïr quickly returns to Masyaf to accost his master, who reveals the truth: the Piece of Eden which he had received from one of the men in the Temple after Altaïr's transgression creates illusions in the mind. Al Mualim denounces religion and other seemingly supernatural events (e.g. the parting of the Red Sea, the Ten Plagues of Egypt, Jesus turning water to wine and the presence of the Greek Gods in the Trojan War) as all being illusions caused by the Piece of Eden. Al Mualim then states his intention to use the artifact to place the whole of mankind into a brainwashed state, and so bring an end to all conflict. Altaïr is eventually able to see through deceptions created by the artifact, and is able to kill Al Mualim. When Altaïr recovers the artifact, the Piece of Eden activates, showing a holographic view of the world with numerous locations of the other Pieces of Eden marked across the globe.
In between sessions in the Animus, Desmond learns from a friendly technician named Lucy Stillman that Abstergo Industries is a modern-day version of the Knights Templar, and are now seeking other artifacts at locations identified in Altaïr's memory. Just before the final session, modern-day Assassins had tried to "rescue" Desmond before the process was complete - but had failed. Desmond was to be killed after the extraction of the information, but Lucy saves him from death. Though Desmond remains trapped in the Abstergo laboratory, his experience in the Animus has created a "bleeding effect". This effect means that Altaïr's past life flows into his own. This grants Desmond the use of Altaïr's "Eagle Vision" ability, which enables him to identify friendly and hostile individuals. Through this ability, Desmond learns that Lucy is his ally. Lucy shows him a bent-down ring finger, bent in the same manner that the Assassins severed their ring fingers to mark their allegiance to the Assassin Order (Hashshashin). This ability also allows him to see strange, otherwise invisible messages painted in blood on the floors and walls of the laboratory and his room. Two of the messages on the lab floor are written in a basic code; one reads "They drained my soul and made it theirs, I drain my body to show you where I saw it", the other "Artifacts sent to the skies to control all nations, to make us obey a hidden crusade. Do not help them". The messages can be interpreted as clues to the whereabouts of other Pieces of Eden - such as Yonaguni and areas of South America related to the Mayan culture. There are also several references to the "doomsday" date December 21, 2012 when Abstergo plans to launch a satellite that will... "permanently end the war". It is hinted that this will use the same method of illusion that Al Mualim used, only on a larger scale. The game ends with Desmond wondering what these images mean, and who could have drawn them.

Surviving Sid is a 2008 computer animated short film from Blue Sky Studios (20th Century Fox Animation) and distributed by HiT Entertainment, starring Sid the Sloth of Ice Age and a cameo appearance by Scrat. It is the third in the series of Ice Age short films, the first being Gone Nutty released with the Ice Age DVD in November 2002. The second being No Time For Nuts on the Ice Age: The Meltdown DVD in November 2006. Unlike the first two Ice Age short films Surviving Sid focuses on Sid the Sloth and a small group of camping children. This is opposed to the first two movies where Scrat the Saber Toothed Squirrel was the lead role.
Sid, the Sloth, takes a school of children out on a camping trip from home, only to find that in typical Sid style, he is not a very good guide and the children he takes with him don't have a very good time. Scrat makes a small cameo appearance in the short, he has swallowed his nut and is struggling to keep it down, in true Scrat style he coughs it up and it is stolen from him. The camping trip leaves some of the children somewhat traumatised. Sid tries to pick a flower, but somehow this has led to a tree falling, which then hits a rock, which causes a chain reaction and hits a series of larger rocks, until eventually hitting a large iceberg. The iceberg then carves out a u-shaped valley, which Sid later names the Grand Canyon. Afterwards the kids get so annoyed with Sid that it ends with them tying him up. At the end of the short movie (20,000 years later in the present day) it shows a father and son beaver looking over the Grand Canyon with the son asking who made it. The father replies "Nature or a being with infinite wisdom."

OpenSUSE ( 11.1 ) LiveCD (KDE4) ( i686 )

OpenSUSE is driven by the openSUSE Project community and sponsored by Novell, to develop and maintain SUSE Linux distributions components.
It is the equivalent of the historic "SuSE Linux Professional". After their acquisition of SUSE Linux, Novell has decided to make the
community an important part of their development process.Beyond the distribution, the openSUSE Project provides a web portal for community
involvement. The community assists in developing openSUSE collaboratively with representatives from Novell by contributing code through
the openSUSE Build Service, writing documentation, designing artwork, fostering discussion on open mailing lists and in Internet Relay
Chat channels, and improving the openSUSE site through its wiki interface. Novell markets openSUSE as the best, easiest distribution for
all users.Like most Linux distributions, openSUSE includes both a default graphical user interface (GUI) and a command line interface
option. During installation, the user may choose among KDE, GNOME and Xfce GUIs. openSUSE supports thousands of software packages across
the full range of Free software / open source development.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS :
OpenSUSE 11.1 has full support for 32 bit i686 and 64 bit x86-64 PC hardware, as well as PowerPC (PPC) processors. The basic requirements
for non-PPC hardware is as follows:
* CPU: Intel Pentium 1-4 or Xeon; AMD Duron, Athlon, Athlon XP, Athlon MP, Athlon 64, Sempron or Opteron
* RAM: 256 MB minimum, 512 MB recommended
* Hard drive: 500 MB for minimal system; 3 GB recommended for standard system
The actually achievable minimum specs differ. Older processors that still belong to the i586 family are usable, for example the AMD K6/2.
When excess language/translation files and documentation are removed and X is not needed, decent console-based router systems can be made
using 300 MB disk space. Most console workloads also cope with 128 MB RAM at the cost of increased swap activity in tight situations.

FEATURES :
YaST Control Center
SUSE includes an installation and administration program called YaST2 which handles hard disk partitioning, system setup, RPM package
management, online updates, network and firewall configuration, user administration and more in an integrated interface. YaST also
integrates with SaX2 to help users handle their graphics card and monitor, touch displays, and even additional monitors with Xinerama.
In more recent times, many more YaST modules have been added including Bluetooth support.
AutoYaST
AutoYaST is part of YaST2 and is used for automatic installation. The configuration is stored in an XML file and the installation happens
without user interaction.
ZYpp package management
ZYpp (or libzypp) is a Linux software management engine which has a powerful dependency resolver and a convenient package management API.
Build Service
The openSUSE Build Service provides software developers with a tool to compile, release and publish their software for many distributions,
including Mandriva, Ubuntu, Fedora and Debian. It typically simplifies the packaging process, so developers can more easily package a
single program for many distributions, and many openSUSE releases, making more packages available to users regardless of what distribution
version they use. It is published under the GPL.
Desktop innovation
In January 2, 2006, SUSE developer David Reveman announced Xgl, an X server architecture designed to take advantage of modern graphics
cards via their OpenGL drivers, layered on top of OpenGL via glitz. Compiz, one of the first compositing window managers for the X Window
System that is able to take advantage of this OpenGL-acceleration, was also released.
Desktop innovations (KDE)
SUSE has been a leading contributor to KDE for many years, and now SUSE sponsors more developers to work directly on KDE than any other
distribution. Hence, SUSE's contributions in this area have been very wide-ranging, and affecting many parts of KDE such as kdelibs and
kdebase, kdepim, and kdenetwork. Other notable projects include:
* KNetworkManager - a KDE front-end to NetworkManager.
* Kickoff - a new K menu for KDE.
Desktop innovations (GNOME)
The Ximian group became part of Novell, and in turn made and continued several contributions to GNOME with applications such as F-Spot,
Novell Evolution and Banshee. The GNOME desktop now uses the slab instead of the classic double-panelled GNOME menu bars

Spartan customs are harsh. The Spartans inspect each infant born to ensure it is whole - if it is defective, the baby is destroyed. They raise their boys in the school of hard knocks - in combat training, a small boy's loss of his weapon earns a bloody lip from the hand of his own father. At age 7, each young boy is torn from his mother and makes his own way in the wilderness, to return a man. Even the King endures this rite of passage. At age 15, young King-to-be Leonidas (Tyler Neitzel) lures a wolf into a narrow passage so that he can kill it. He returns home to be crowned King.
Years later, messengers visit King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) requesting Sparta's submission to King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro). Insulted by their attitude, King Leonidas kicks the messengers into a well. Acknowledging the threat of Xerxes's invasion force, he visits the Ephors (priests) to obtain their favour before sending the Spartan army in battle. He proposes to repel the numerically superior enemy by using the terrain of the Hot Gates of Thermopylae, funneling the Persians into a narrow pass between the rocks and the sea. The Ephors, wary of the plan, consult the Oracle (Kelly Craig). In her drugged trance she decrees that Sparta must not go to war, lest they interrupt the sacred Carneian festival. Leonidas departs in anger, and the priests receive their bribe of Xerxes' gold from the Spartan traitor, Theron (Dominic West), for their negative response.
Leonidas is reluctant to defy the corrupt clergy outright, but his wife (Lena Headey) encourages him to think outside the box. Leonidas elects to take 300 of his best soldiers as his "bodyguard" on a leisurely walk to the strategic Hot Gates location. His wife says goodbye, telling him to come back with his shield or on it, and gives him a necklace.
On the road they meet some allies, who are shocked that the Spartans are sending such a small force. Leonidas asks the professions of the allied army, who are craftsmen and artisans. He points out that he has brought more soldiers than they. Joined by Arcadians and other Greeks, they arrive at the Hot Gates of Thermopylae. In sight of the approaching Persian army, they construct a wall to contain the Persians' advance. Strong storms destroy some of Xerxes fleet, but it is only a small percentage of the massive army they will face.
A horribly disfigured man, Ephialtes (Andrew Tiernan), comes to see Leonidas to warn him of the goat path at the rear of his position. Ephialtes claims that his parents fled Sparta at his birth to save his life. He hopes to redeem them by fighting for Leonidas. Leonidas explains that each Spartan warrior is a key part of the phalanx, and asks Ephialtes to show that he can lift his shield high enough to properly defend his fellow warriors. When it becomes evident that he cannot, Leonidas gently tells him to care for the fallen instead. Ephialtes' fondest hopes are crushed.
A Persian emissary arrives, and finds that the bodies of the previous scouting party now make up part of the large rock wall. The Persian states that their arrows will blot out the sun, and the Spartans agree they will simply fight in the shade. The emissary's party is killed.
Prior to the battle the Persians demand that the Spartans drop their arms and surrender. Leonidas refuses and challenges the Persians to come and take their weapons from them. With their tightly-knit phalanx formation, the Spartans funnel the Persians into the narrow terrain, repeatedly rebuffing them and inflicting heavy casualties.
Xerxes, impressed with Spartan fighting skill, personally approaches Leonidas to persuade him to surrender. He promises Leonidas wealth and power in exchange for his loyalty. Leonidas declines, promising instead to make the "God King" bleed, and turns to rejoin his army.
Dismayed at the refusal, Xerxes sends his masked personal guard, "The Immortals", which name the Spartans also prove false. The battles continue, with the Spartans prevailing over soldiers and animals drawn from the vast reaches of the Persian empire: from Mongolian barbarians and Eastern chemists to African rhinoceroses and Indian war elephants. However, some of the brave Spartan warriors are killed, and it becomes clear that more will follow.
Ephialtes goes to Xerxes, and agrees to show the goat path to the Persians in exchange for a uniform, along with promises of women and wealth.
Back in Sparta, Queen Gorgo has been trying to convince the council to send help to Leonidas. A friendly councilman arranges for her to speak, but explains that she will need Theron on her side. Theron agrees to help her if she will sleep with him - so she does.
At the Hot Gates, the Spartans learn they have been betrayed, and know their fight is doomed. The Arcadians retreat in the face of certain death. The Spartans refuse to follow. Leonidas orders a reluctant Dilios to return to Sparta and tell of their inevitable deaths.
In Sparta, Queen Gorgo makes her appeal to the council. Instead of supporting her as promised, Theron betrays her, accusing her of adultery. Enraged, Gorgo snatches a sword and stabs Theron, rupturing a bag of gold in the folds of his robe. As the coins stamped with Persian markings spill onto the ground, the Council realizes Theron's treachery and agree to unite against Persia.
At the Hot Gates, as the Persians surround the Spartans, Xerxes's general demands their surrender, declaring that Leonidas may keep his title as King of Sparta and become Warlord of all Greece, answerable only to Xerxes. Ephialtes urges this as well, to which Leonidas remarks, "May you live forever," an insult from a culture valuing death and valor in battle. Leonidas drops his shield and removes his helmet, seemingly bowing in submission. Stelios then leaps over him and kills the general. A furious Xerxes orders his troops to attack. As Persian archers shoot the remaining Spartans, Leonidas rises and hurls his spear at Xerxes, ripping open his cheek, thus making "the God-King bleed." Xerxes, visibly shaken by this reminder of his own mortality, watches as the remaining Spartans perish beneath the combined might of his army.
Concluding his tale before an audience of attentive Spartans, Dilios declares that the 120,000-strong Persian army that narrowly defeated 300 Spartans now faces 10,000 Spartans commanding 30,000 Greeks. Praising Leonidas's sacrifice, Dilios leads the assembled Greek army into a fierce charge against the Persian army, igniting the Battle of Plataea.
